Professional Skincare Cosmetics Market: Trend and Brand Analysis

Professional Skincare Cosmetics Market: Trend and Brand Analysis

Hume’s Institute’s client — one of the largest producers and distributors in the beauty industry — requested an analysis of the professional face and body skincare cosmetics market, with particular emphasis on competition analysis within this market segment.

Several research techniques were used for the analysis

The competition analysis module was based on the Desk Research technique. As part of this section, over 70 websites of professional cosmetic brands and their social media channels were analyzed. To obtain the most reliable data, the module was supplemented with data collected using the Mystery Client technique.

B2B and B2C Research

The research module consisted of two parts:

  • B2B research was conducted on a sample of 300 beauty salons using the CATI technique. The gathered data helped identify key product groups, purchasing factors, and sources of information about suppliers.
  • B2C research was conducted on a sample of 1,000 individual customers using the CAWI technique. The main goal of this part was to determine what percentage of adult Poles purchase professional face and body care cosmetics.

The client received practical insights into trends in the use of professional cosmetics, proven collaboration models with salons, and clearly defined opportunities and risks when introducing a new brand to the market.

Effect

  • a description of market segments divided by player size
  • comprehensive descriptions of offerings, activities, and brand images of key players
  • a pricing policy overview in the professional cosmetics segment and their retail resale

Trends related to the use of professional cosmetics in salons and cooperation models between brands and beauty parlors were also identified. The report outlined opportunities and risks associated with launching a new brand in the professional cosmetics market.
