Client needs analysis: construction market in the Central and Eastern Europe region

For one of the leading building materials manufacturers, the Hume’s team prepared an analysis of the needs of entities shaping the construction market in six Central and Eastern European countries and conducted a workshop session based on the collected data.

Client Expectations

The goal of the project was to understand the needs of direct customers (general contractors, concrete producers, construction materials suppliers, prefab manufacturers) as well as other entities shaping the construction market (architects, developers, and local authorities/administration) in each of the six countries under study: Poland, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Hume’s Research

The results of the study were to serve as the foundation for a workshop session aimed at developing possible growth directions. Key topics included identifying factors influencing supplier choice, understanding major cooperation challenges, recognizing elements contributing to a positive evaluation, and gathering opinions on the state of the market and openness to innovative solutions.

Based on the research findings and the market knowledge of our analysts, we conducted a workshop session for representatives of the client’s national branches. The meeting aimed to identify opportunities for growth and the introduction of new products or solutions.

For each of the countries studied, the client received a report including:

  • a summary of the research findings;
  • description of the country’s macroeconomic situation, including indicators of key material production and forecasts;
  • presentation of respondents’ perspectives, covering the market condition and observed trends;
  • description of the most important supplier selection criteria, situations considered problematic, and additional expectations regarding cooperation;
  • perception of innovative solutions present on the market and the level of openness to innovation.
