The Most Common Diseases in Poland — Treatment Cost Analysis

The Most Common Diseases in Poland — Treatment Cost Analysis

What are the real costs of treating the most common and rare diseases in Poland from a patient’s perspective?
For one of the leading global insurance and pension product providers, we prepared a detailed analysis of expenses incurred by patients — also in the case of costly rare disease therapies.

Client Expectations

Project goal: Our long-term client, one of the leading global providers of insurance and retirement products, was seeking data on the cost of treating diseases with the highest likelihood of occurrence in Poland. They were primarily interested in the patient’s perspective. The analysis was also to include information on rare diseases for which patients in Poland often incur very high treatment costs.

Project implementation

Hume’s Institute consultants carried out the project using both secondary and primary sources.
Fast execution was possible thanks to many years of experience in the healthcare sector and a deep understanding of information sources and healthcare system mechanisms. Due to the lack of open sources on patient-borne costs, our researchers conducted a series of in-depth expert interviews with representatives of patient organizations and physicians.

In a short time, the Client received a concise and clearly presented synthesis of information on treatment costs in Poland, along with key conclusions.

Effect

The report was used by the Client for the publication of a publicly available report and for other marketing and sales purposes. The full content of the study became a practical tool for assessing risks and building an offer tailored to the real needs of the market.
